Mighty Hawks is highly committed to working with individuals in the community with varying disabilities. Our mission is to help each participant foster a greater independence in the community based on personal goals or interests. This is achieved through developing skills that are essential to everyday life, such as financial literacy, resume building and computer skills, as well as aid in both individual and career development. Activities and learnings are facilitated in a group setting allowing participants to meet new people, with one-on-one support from Mighty Hawks facilitators. One-on-one meetings are also offered to help personalize development while building a strong connection with Mighty Hawks facilitators.
Individuals in the Waterloo and Kitchener community with social disabilities and intellectual disabilities benefit from our program. At Mighty Hawks, we emphasize that a disability does not define the scope of one’s abilities. We work to provide our participants with the resources and support to succeed while engaging communities to see each unique individual’s exceptional potential.
