Mighty Hawks is highly committed to working with individuals in the community with varying disabilities. Our mission is to help each participant foster a greater independence in the community based on personal goals or interests. This is achieved through developing basic skills that are essential to everyday life, as well as aid in both individual and career development. Activities and learnings are facilitated in a group setting, allowing participants to meet new people. One-on-one meetings are also offered to help personalize development while building a strong connection with Mighty Hawks facilitators. Meeting times and locations are flexible to accommodate schedules.
Individuals in the Waterloo and Kitchener community with social disabilities and intellectual disabilities such as Downs Syndrome benefit from our program. However, Mighty Hawks sees beyond the “disability” and ensures this is not what defines each participant.
