More Homes is a social enterprise that is working on bridging the gap between shelters and supportive housing systems. By providing resources and filling the gaps within the current existing system in Canada, they hope to ensure the homeless community are supported in their journey to become self-sustaining.
Due to the current global pandemic, many people including the homeless (women and youths), victims of domestic abuse are facing various restrictions limiting their access to basic resources. Such resources will ensure the people staying in our shelter are facilitated with their basic needs. The current “Point In Time” system being used to track the number of people in need of shelters is biased as it only tracks them in certain provinces and regions. People who are not a part of the regions within the system are not taken into account for and thus are left unsheltered. This will be done by placing our shelters in regions where the system doesn’t cover. |
